    This photo was "borrowed" from the Alpha Clock Five assembly instructions. This photo was taken with low ISO (100) and two very bright flash softboxes to get the low noise.

    The washed out look is mostly natural-- we're looking at a grazing angle (well, maybe 30° from horizontal) at the reflection of the white backdrop. There's also minor postprocessing in Aperture, for white balance and exposure.
