Blitz Ghost - Surrey Street Bus Station 1940 > 2011

Tuesday, 30th July, 1940 taken from All Saints Green looking towards St. Stephen by the inimitable Mr George Swain, and by a tall bloke in a jacket with too many pockets 71 years later, this was a remarkable fit, seeing as I didn't take a pic with me and winged it from memory. This was before the Baedeker raids and was probably the result of a "tip and run" by a plane, a Dornier, either targeting a specific and being disturbed or off target, they also hit Ber Street and dumped a few in the river at Hellesdon and the Mile Cross bridge, Also Victoria Terrace, Kings Street and Mansfield Lane, so a fair old scatter, they were at this point just warming up for the main show.

And those two blokes in the middle, they're walking through ghosts, we all do it.
