Steam and Fire - Hrafntinnusker, Iceland
Torfajökull area as a part of the better known Landmannalaugar area is Iceland most geothermally active. Hrafntinnusker where this photo is taken is a part of that area has countless hot springs and steam clouds can be seen anywhere around.
The area is also known for extremely colorful rock formations aswell as patches of unrealistically green moss. The green moss grows around small streams creating some very interesting contrast to the otherwise vegetationless area.
The area is luckilly unaffected by the ashfall from Eyjafjallajökull eruption. The area called Fjallabak just south of Hrafntinnusker is still covered with ash. It used to be very colorful but not it is gray and dull.
