Stone, Sea & Sunset

The Reykjanes peninsula is covered with lava from relatively recent eruptions. The coastline has therefor black cliffs and stones which often form interestingly.

The tricky part shooting seascape in lava country is that the rock is so dark compared to the sky and ocean reflection. Most cameras don't have dynamic range to capture the contrast between these two. Therefor shooting at the right angle to the sun and using ND grad filters is essential.
