Bee rescue

The driver of a semi-trailer carrying nearly 400 hives ran into a bit of trouble on U.S. 97 north of Madras. The honeybees were being transported to fruit orchards in Washington where they’d pollinate the trees. The driver swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the highway, but that threw his rig onto the soft shoulder and the whole rig rolled onto its side. Some of the hives were destroyed but as many as half survived.
