Welcome Gathering
On Feb 28, 2017 Ordway presented a Welcome Gathering in partnership with Rosy Simas Danse, All My Relations Arts, Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI) at Two Rivers Gallery located at the Minneapolis American Indian Center in Minneapolis.

At this event, the community came together to eat and welcome several visiting renowned Native contemporary dancers and artists. On display in the Two Rivers Gallery was Gathering of Contemporary Indigenous Artists, an exhibition curated by Gordon Coons. Exhibiting artists included Camille A. Lacapa, Cole Jacobson, Chholing Taha, Gordon Coons, Gwen Westerman and Joseph Allen.

This gathering began a week of community engagements as part of Oyate Okodakiciyapi: a unique celebration of Native music and dance, including in-school visits, workshops, exhibitions, discussions, and performances.

Highlights included an art exhibition opening reception on Mar 3 The Harvest Sturdies: Tanya Lukin Linklater at All My Relations Arts in Minneapolis and a public performance on Mar 4 , Oyate Okodakiciyapi: An Evening of Native Contemporary Dance, co-curated by local Native choreographer, Rosy Simas, at the Ordway in St. Paul showcasing:
