Female Agapostemon sp. Sweat Bee - Oregon

Spring's in full swing and the bugs are returning! Here's a beautiful little Agapostemon sp. bee shot last Friday. 3 images stacked (for the body and legs - antennae from a single shot as they were waving around) with a 55mm Vivitar macro lens on an old Ricoh 1:1 teleconverter.

Once again I'll be teaching the 8-day, 7-night Bugshot Belize macro photography workshop in the Belizean jungle alongside these talented photographers and entomologists.

We still have a few slots left you you to join! Registration here:

The last two years have proved to be awesome experiences and I think everyone (including myself) was astounded by the volume and diversity of arthropod life in the area. Belize is really a macro photographer's dream location - the place is literally crawling with beautiful arthropods everywhere!

Here's a small set of just *some* of the amazing life to be found in the jungles of Belize:…/49580580@N…/sets/72157644039072430/

...and finally, if you're not *solely* interested in macro - I regularly post new photos over here - but be forewarned, there'll be a lot of boring waterfall photos because I don't have the access to salticids I used to now that I've moved to Oregon:
