The Old Cottonwood Church, Montana

My husband and I had to take quite the detour to get to this old place (almost all the way to the Canadian border!) but it was worth it! Cottonwood Montana is a ghost town and this is most of what remains. I didn't have to do too much research about this place because the signs on the wall of the church told me quite a bit!

"Cottonwood Community Homesteaded 1910"

"Post Office 1911-1925 First School 1912 Cottonwood Hall 1914"

"Catholic Church 1928 Lutheran 1922 First Presbyterian 1915"

It was so nice to walk around this quiet place. Everything was damp from the rain and there was a bit of wind. There was a peaceful silence around the old church that I hope I can convey a bit in these photos.
