Nisei WWII Veterans
Nisei soldiers from the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service of World War II.

The Nisei (second generation Japanese Americans) had their own segregated units during WWII, and the 442nd RCT became the most decorated unit of its size and length of service in U.S. military history.

On November 2, 2011, members of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd RCT, and MIS were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, one of the highest civilian awards in the United States.
