My Plastic Childhood

Project 365 // Day 322

My earliest and fondest memories from childhood always involve toys for some reason, wether it be Transformers, Masters of the Universe or Thundercats, I was one of those kids that always had a plastic action figure in their hands. But nothing will ever compare to my love and obsession over the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – the movies, the comics, the cartoons and the toys – I was a fan through and through. When I was a kid, I had pretty much every TMNT toy you could possibly think of, including awesome play sets like the Technodrome.

But, like most kids, I eventually "outgrew" my toys when I got to that awkward age where homework consumed my time and going out and meeting girls became first priority. As I got older, I started to become more and more of a toy collector, but it was only then that I started to realize how few of my childhood toys I had left. Most them had been sold at yard sales, thrown out, lost or given away over the years. I decided to start hunting them down on eBay, yard sales and flea markets so that one day I could rebuild my collection to its former glory.
