Bacon and roses

Bacon's Castle. (Surrey, Va.) Every April, Virginia has its garden week where historic tourist homes and private residences open up their homes and gardens to people like me. The snobbery that accompanies this event each year is gag inducing to say the least. Not only do I have to deal with flower aficionados hogging a good shot but I also have to contend with other photographers who don't mind walking right in front of me while trying to snap off a few. I am and have always been very mindful and considerate of others whether taking photos or not and expect the same consideration in kind. More often than not I get the cold shoulder from so called "professional" photographers. These pricks who don't mind telling me that they have a degree and their camera lens cost more than my entire camera. I've seen some of the work they produce and quite frankly I find it lazy and boring. Anyway, today I went off the beaten path and let all the snobs battle each other for supremacy. I went to places I thought were nice and didn't have to hear a ten minute speech on how much money was spent on this or that in the garden or whatever.
