Behold the reisetomate, known in English as the traveler tomato. Most of the "nodules" can be broken off and eaten separately because they each grow from the stem independently, kind of like a bunch of grapes.
A friend gave me a couple nodules from a reisetomate he grew last year, so I ate one nodule and saved the seeds from the other. This spring, I planted the seeds, and the fruit pictured above is what came out!
Its flavor is bold and acidic. Folks who like sweet tomatoes might not care for this one.
