Prairie Falcon lift-off
Watching and studying this species out in the wild, it is immediately noticeable how efficient they are in flight. From point-to-point they often glide (or stoop if coming from elevation). Their wingbeat is quick and decisive, and they often fly very low to the ground. Occasionally they will soar in the thermals, gliding for long durations without a single wing beat. It is amazing how far away they will target prey with their impressive eye sight. I've witnessed strike missions targeted from over a mile away, full stoop, like a bullet through the air.
