This Museum Is A Gas!
Gas Hall at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, completed in 1885 the building was an extension to Birmingham Council House which had opened several years earlier in 1879 and was subsidised by the Municipal Gas Department which had offices below, due to a limitation on public funds for the arts.
The museum has a collection of international importance covering fine art, ceramics, metalwork, jewellery, archaeology, ethnography, local history and industrial history.
I am still learning to take interior shots, they're a lot more tricky than taking my usual exterior photos, this was taken on a very dull afternoon, I must return when the sun is shining and better light is allowed through the large skylight above.
