Binalong Bay Lichen Display (II)
Huge boulders contour the coastline at Binalong Bay, Tasmania, Australia. The focus of this photograph clearly is the round boulder, to the right of the centre. It is complemented by its small sister (or brother?) at the top of the frame and supported by the contrast provided by the grey rock and sand immediately to its left. The picture is completed by the frame of red rocks peeking in from the edges.
Soft, evenly spread light from an overcast sky was used to enhance the red lichen covering the rocks at this place. Deliberately left unfiltered, the film recorded the cold-ish hues typical of these light conditions which add to the drama of the photograph.
