Rectilinear test 3

In response to the question of what purpose the Rapid Rectilinear lens serves, I took a series of photos of the same subjects--one with the external rectilinear lens in place, the other using only the internal lens.

 

Obviously, on my camera at least, the rectilenear lens is required! I was startled by how unfocused the images from the internal lens were, given that plenty of other people are able to take fine photos using only that lens.
