Perito Moreno panorama 1
Stitched from 5 vertical frames. Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina is best known for the irregular collapse of a dam that forms periodically, separating the two halves of Lago Argentino. When I was there in March 2006, the last rupture had occured just the day before. YouTube video of the 2004 rupture (narrated in German). From left to right in this picture, the glacier is a massive 5 km wide, with an average height of 60 m above the surface of the water.
