Back burning

Shaun Hearmon back burns a section of grass to minimise the risk of any fires flaring up a day after the fire front threatened properties near Boho in north-east Victoria. Shaun says "We were burning out an area around some trees that were still alight. It is done to try and provide a "safe" burnt area so if embers were to blow off the tree they would land on burnt ground and not unburnt ground where the fire could start again."
