Joseph FEIL, born 1972

On Saturday 7 February 2009 bushfires raged across areas to the north and east of Melbourne, as temperatures soared to 48°C—the hottest day on record. Fanned by winds as strong as 125 km per hour, the fires destroyed more than 2,000 homes. 173 people lost their lives and many communities were devastated.
