Relentless, 2002

Noel BUTCHER, born 1953.

Consensus that climate change exists and will have irreversible impact on weather patterns has grown dramatically since the start of the drought, prompting examination of long term patterns of water use. A potent symbol in the campaign to change Australians’ attitudes towards water use has been the dropping levels of major dams. Dam levels and water targets are displayed on roadside signs, in televised weather reports and on the front pages of newspapers.
