Rainwater carwash, 2004

Noel BUTCHER, born 1953.

Rain that falls on coastal cities is a resource that goes largely untapped, and drinking water from dams is often used when untreated water could be used instead. In response to this, Melbourne Water and the Housing Commission developed a carwash that uses rainwater collected from the top storey of a nearby car park.

Richmond, Victoria.
