A couple of months ago I posted some photos of the terns in Bedford. I was kind of pleased with with, but I was determined to revisit them and improve on what I got that first time. So here's the result of my next visit.
I was so lucky second time around. There was one fledgeling sitting on the roof of the hide, and another perched right outside. This meant I was treated to a visit from a parent carrying fish around every 5 minutes. They're not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with them.
This is a silhouette of the squawking that would start as soon as the adult got close. It was my warning to get ready to try and catch a fish exchange, as he always spied the adult before I did.
