James Duane never lived in the namesake town he founded. Both Duane and William North are buried here in the crypt below the floorboards of the Espicopal Church.

I've been all over hill and dale in Duanesburg the last couple of weekends. That includes the cemetery behind this church and the one across the street. I'm glad that you started this group.

The cemetery across the street was behind the Reformed Presbyterian Church but the church burned down. That's why the road is called Duanesburg Churches (plural) Road.

Thanks for the historical context. I was wondering where the associated church was. I didn't think to look on Route 20 for a marker. Egads.
