This page comes from a scrapbook of society column layouts that Frances Pinkie Williams—as Frances Stubblefield—edited for the Wheeling News-Register from 1938-1942. The scrapbook was prepared as a gift for her when she resigned from the newspaper to get married in 1942.
Vieing for honors on No. 18 hole of the Cedar Rocks Golf club, Big Wheeling Creek road, are Mesdames R. A. Marmaduke, R. M. Pedicord, E. L. Westwood and Harry Brennan. The club house was remodeled this season to serve the needs of the augmented membership.
At the beautiful Belmont Hills Country club, St. Clairsville, Ohio, guests are found lounging on the patio of the club house while some of the more energetic golfers on the course are Mesdames J. Nelson Werntz, E. E. Reed, J. C. George and Ralph Boyd.
Wheeling Country club champion golfers are putting to break a tied score at the hilltop club. In the foursome are Mesdames H. Dewey Quarrier, Wilmot H. Harris, Wilbur Stone Jones and John O. Tucker.
