Trollfjorden is a short little arm of Raftsundet. It is renowned for it's narrow entrance which opens to a almost 360 degree wall of steep mountain sides. Obviously a rather popular destination for cruise traffic, including Hurtigruten. It would have been more beautiful there before they piped a waterfall to produce hydroelectricity bak in the 1960s.
This short narrow fjord is also the site of the "Battle at Trollfjord" in 1890 where owners of larger and more modern steamships prevented the smaller and more traditional boats access to the fjordarm where there were lots of cod. This lead to a scuffle, a public outcry and new legislating to forbid certain equipment to secure access for the smaller and poorer fishermen and their traditional boats.
