~Sminthurinus reticulatus~

I found yet more cute little Collembola, they were less than 1mm in length and were taken at x7 magnification, they were not visible to the human eye, but with my x4 magnifying loupe they were for me.

I found these under fallen leaves and out of the 5 individuals I saw, they all had the same distinctive markings, the closest match I can find on line is Sminthurinus reticulatus, can anyone confirm this, if they can that will be another new one for the ever growing list of Collembola I have found :o)

I have included a selection of shots in the comments to show various aspects of this most attractive Springtail :o)

These also appear to have some prominent Setae protruding from the side of their abdomen :0)

Sminthurinus henshawi f. similitortus also looks similar, but these all seem to be found in the USA.
