I just saw a Documentary about this guy. He was fascinating, but he is also quite disturbing. He has definite issues with women and sex, as he said in the DVD. He is super intelligent though, and what he writes about he honestly knows that he has issues. That's what i like about him. He understands his oddness, and proclivities. On the one hand, I loved his art, on the other hand I found it repulsive. The real fascination is that Crumb is interesting despite his repulsiveness. We can't look away. His art is extremely important and historical. I love how he admits to the LSD year(s). It's good to know he is also an honest artist. Some artists draw for shock value for no good reason. Crumb does it because he is compelled with an inner story.

His family was also eccentric. I can only imagine what the siblings went through in their childhood. It couldn't have been pleasant. I heard Charlie committed suicide a year after the DVD was made. I knew that was going to happen, but even though I didn't know him at all until I saw this documentary, I was saddened by his death. He had a sense of humor and an honesty about him that was refreshing.

Another thing I found very interesting was that all of the kids in that family had genius artistic talent. Every one of them had it! Amazing stuff.
