Sea Spider

The arthropod highlight while exploring “Pierpoint” Seamount within the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument was this large sea spider (Collossendeidae) seen at 1,495 meters (4,905 feet).

Although pycnogonids are often referred to as "sea spiders" due to their resemblance to land spiders, they are not true spiders.
