Built in 1905, this lighthouse is built to guide ships into the once thriving lumber industry. Being it was built for this local industry it was only fitting it was constructed of wood which is rare for light houses in the area. Because it is not located in a remote location it was considered a privilege to be a keeper at this location. Only those keepers with long and faithful service were assigned here as a reward for their service.
