Cathedral of St. Lawrence
The captivating Croatian town of Trogir enjoys Unesco World Heritage status due to its prolific historical and cultural monuments. The Cathedral of St. Lawrence featured in this picture is such a place. It was built on the foundations of an earliy-Christian cathedral destroyed in the 12th century during the sack of the town by the Saracens in 1123. Work on the present building began in 1213 and was completed in 1256 in Romanesque style.
