Seth Bernard

    Newer Older

I've known Seth since he was eight or nine years old (he's 27, I think). I've been very fortunate to have watched him develop as a musician and as a human being. It was a treat to see him perform last night in Daniel Johnston's band and to bask in the joy he exuded as he played.

Besides being a musician, Seth is the driving force behind Earthwork Music, a music cooperative primarily for Michigan artists. (Earthwork is the name of the organic farm on which he grew up.)

I photographed Seth's sisters about fifteen years ago.
