"Moth - A nocturnal butterfly using the Moon for navigation"

In 2059 a competition was announced by the United Space Initiative to celebrate the upcoming 100 year mark of man's first landing on the moon. The competition was appropriately called "The Race to the Moon". Companies around the world where challenged to build their best "Racer" for a spectacular actual race to the moon, where the winning party would get beneficial property rights and manufacturing contracts on the surface of the Moon. The purpose for this competition was to lift the technology level and speed of the space transports of that era. Many unholy alliances where formed to gather the best scientists, engineers and thinkers. This was to be the starting point of man's colonization of the Moon and beyond.

I've been planning this build since early 2016. Trying designs in LDD. Buying parts. Never quite sure if I would be able to pull it off. From the start I really wanted to build it swooshable and a bonus would be to make it modular as well (being able to detach the fuel tanks from the ship). I think I managed to reach my goals. It's was a struggle to make it sturdy enough. I hade to make the main structure a lot bulkier than I had planned. But all in all. I'm quite pleased with the result. Hope you like it!

Here is a video as well:

Credits to John Wallin Liberto for the design.
