Where did you get the desk? I like it!

It's from Room & Board (www.roomandboard.com) and is Custom Parsons style. The top is Zebra Wood but I see they don't seem to offer that wood as an option for the top.

I love the simplicity, where'd you get that filing cabinet?

Is that the only thing that's not been asked about? :P

:-) Thx. The filing cabinet is from a local NY shop. It's an old school one that the store then sand blasts so its just down to the bear metal. It weighs a ton!

I keep on finding people with what I beleive to be Herman Miller Aeron chairs. How comfortable is the chair?

OS X, FTW! (FTW = For the Win)

What size desk is that? 30x60? Is that a 24" iMac on it? Also, whats the name of the store you bought the filing cabinet from?

and what about the dust that falls down from the stairs. I'd never put a desk under stairs... btw the setup looks good

  12. nycGRAEME 73 months ago | reply

@ rstenson: I think it is a 30x72 but I have to check when I get home. Yup, it's a 24" iMac. Filing cabinet was bought at a local salvage store in NYC. If you are in the city I can find the name. They have lots of reclaimed filing cabinets like that.

@nagydani: it's actually fine and it is not anymore dusty than the rest of the loft, I tried to explain it on lifehacker as a comment, but essentially the way the stairs are constructed prevents any dirt from falling down.

@nycGRAEME - thanks! I am in NYC and would like the name!

Ok...had to actually use Google Maps street view to find it again but here is the info of the place in NYC that sells the stripped steel filing cabinet:

    Green Kay Office Furniture
    682 Sixth Avenue (b/n 21 & 22nd St)
    New York, NY
    (212) 645-8080

I hope you're not gonna drop water glass in the stairs lol

I just bought a house and it looks like we ripped off the design of your house... at least the stairs... Our community is called Iron Works. Your place is giving me ideas to steal for my place.

I have a space under my stairs, now I may just copy this idea and set up a little office underneath :)
