Could this be Flat Island NS when lobstering was done from the Islands in the Tusket Chain and processing took place on some of them - as far out as Seal Island?

clarrie2011 I'm trying to find an image of Flat Island to compare it to... the only one I can find is this one: bit.ly/nYMEB4 All of the houses in this photo appear to have Widow's walks, which is a good clue.

I think this is Silver Island, Lake Superior, Northern Ontario. It is a famous mining island. I think the Head Frame is unmistakable.

robgeol99 This was one of the photos we hoped to have identified through this project. Thank you SO much! There is a very good comparison shot here: images.ourontario.ca/gateway/56085/data?n=2

I believe you are correct. In 1917 Mr. Paige was general manager of the Port Arthur Shipbuilding company in Ontario, and remained in that position for three years. In 1920 he was operating manager of the Halifax Shipyards, Nova Scotia, where he also remained for three years.

I am a great nephew of James Paige and I do have more information on his life. Would be glad to share. A very interesting man.
