74 Bridge Street Project
In preparation for Keeping History Above Water, more than 30 people gathered at Rough Point for a two-day workshop on how to protect 74 Bridge Street and the surrounding Point Neighborhood in Newport, RI, from impacts of climate change, especially increased flooding from sea level rise (SLR). The results will be exhibited on site during NRF’s Keeping History Above Water conference, April 10-13, 2016.

Managed by Newport Restoration Foundation, with help from Mohamad Farzan, RIBA, AIA, the facilitation of the charrette, development work and presentation was carried out by a team that included building conservation specialists, preservationists and architects from the New England office of BCA, Inc., Newton, Mass., and architects from Union Studio, Providence, RI.
