Head of UN Environment Erik Solheim taking part in a meeting to encourage parties to ratify the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
The amendment is a historic achievement in addressing climate change and will phase out dangerous chemicals known as HFCs which cause global warming. The implementation of the Kigali Amendment is expected to avoid up to half a degree Celsius of global warming by the end of the century.
