Pride of Barbados (Caesalpinia pulcherrima)

Identification courtesy of urtica, dan1eboy, and Tropilab. It is also the National Flower of Barbados...

A species of Poinciana I believe, a legume (Fabaceae family).
  • Dan² 9y

A common name for it is "Pride of Barbados"
  • Robert Silverwood 9y

Looks far too flamboyant for a wild flower!

I was hoping to be able to remove this from the wfgna group, but only because I was hoping it hadn't actually become established here in North America!! Googling suggests it's wild in the Sonoran Desert and Texas...oh well.

    Wow, beautiful flower!
