All Saints, South Elmham All Saints, Suffolk
A deliciously remote tree-surrounded church in the fields, a third of a mile from the nearest road, in what is in any case a wild corner of East Anglia. It is furnished in the prayer book style, but has medieval survivals in bench ends and glass. It is redundant, and in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust: it is open all the time.
All Saints is one of the Saints, a group of 12 remote and traditionally lawless parishes near to the Norfolk border. Each village is named after a Saint: eight are styled 'South Elmham', four are 'Ilketshall'.
