St Nicholas, Bradwell, Norfolk
A rather lovely round-towered church in the dreary outer suburbia of Great Yarmouth. Until 1974, the parish was in Suffolk. At the end of the War, Bradwell had fewer than two hundred people living in it - today, there are more than five thousand.
This is the only area of East Anglia where most of the churches are kept locked without keyholders. We were lucky to find it open, and the two old ladies were very surprised that we wanted to see inside.
