Sumo Stable

540. Instead of paying upto £200+ for a ringside seat at a sumo tornament, you can visit an early morning sumo training session for free. This particular stable, near Asakusa, is home of the current champ (from Mongolia), but he didn't show up on this day. The first 45 minutes or so, from 07:00, is just limbering up but then they start the practise session proper. These boys are big, but incredibly nimble around the small ring. Hand speed is impressive too. When these huge slabs of flesh crash into each other, there's an enormous slap and each bout lasts no more than 30-40 seconds. (A big thanks, Mamiko, for organising the visit ;-))
