A world consumed by darkness
It's amazing how dark the place is without the moon. Even with a 30 minute exposure @ ISO 400 shot wide open, its still begged for another 15 minutes to finish baking in. The whole time I was itching to walk the bridge and light it, but did not look forward to waiting another 60 minutes (30 + 30 dark frame) in case I botched it. I'll save that for next time under a full moon. The strange white streaks towards the bottom of the frame are from a group of people crossing the bridge with their flashlights.
During the long wait we tried setting up my Dad's camera for a similar shot, but to our dismay found that bulb mode on the D40 is nearly useless without the ML-L3 wireless remote. Now I know what to get him for Father's Day...
