He who glows in the night

Not the best picture, only cool because of the effect, and the fact that this lion's name is Inkanya - roughly translated into English - 'He who glows in the night'.

Sometimes our drives would last well after dark, and a spotlight was used to locate animals' eye shine. On this particular night, we were close to a koppie (a rocky hill), and all of the lions were close to us, but we didn't know exactly where. From time to time, we would catch the lions' eyes in the distance - a truly spooky feeling to have 7 sets of eyes staring at you through the darkness. On the way out of this area, Inkanya walked right past the truck, tracked by the spotlight. I had pretty much given up on trying to take night shots from the back of the truck, as we couldn't bring tripods on drives (and we were constantly on the move), but I took this shot and thought it was pretty cool, especially given his name.
