The last of the "pier being pummeled by waves" series. For those paying attention, I tried to show a wave just as it was hitting, then one in full force, and now this is what it looked like just after the wave passed through. Keep in mind that a lot of these waves rushed forward with a vengance and crashed into the sea wall that I was standing behind. I was smart, however, because I stood a ways back, on a bench, with a 70-300mm lens. That said-- the recurring spray made me wonder if anyone has ever designed a windshield-like wiper for a camera lens (or my glasses).
Someone with a very professional-looking video recorder came by and filmed me photographing the pier, so if any locals saw some news footage of a big guy with a beard and ponytail, wearing a black beret and aiming his camera ... well ... that was probably me.
