A pillow fight is taking place at a sports day, organised by the Black Watch Regiment. The two men taking part are balancing on a narrow wooden bar. In fact, one is in the process of falling off. Both men are laughing, and providing great entertainment for those on the sidelines.
Images such as this were often used by the Government and Military as propaganda. They provided a positive view of life at the Front and, therefore, reassured those at home that conditions were favourable when in fact the opposite was true.
