eyedrum archive
the eyedrum art and music gallery has been home to live music performances in Atlanta, GA for over ten years. the music committe has made it a priority to capture these shows on record.

the media has changed over time starting with cassettes, DAT, minidisc, CDs, and to hard drive.

the eyedrum archive represents over 5,000 volunteer hours dedicated to the recording arts, and documents a moment in music history in the space.

Longtime eyedrum sound engineer Jeff Rackley is the keeper of the bulk of the collection. He has kept it organized and in excellent condition.

We'd like to offer this unique music collection up for public consumption, eventually, and have started the process of making this happen.

I met with Jeff to take a look at the physical collection and to get a better idea of how to approach the data. We decided to start with collecting the info into a spreadsheet that could be later imported into a database. Listen here for discussion on the project

We are about 1/5th of the way thru the collection. Feel free to contact eyedrum if you are interested in an internship that would involve music archiving.
