Desperately Seeking St. Anthony

Here is an excerpt from my Moleskine Pocket Daily Diary from January 13th:

"I was changing the sheets on my bed when I spied a little metal object that had fallen into the crack between the bed frame and the wall. It was my pocket size statue of St. Anthony in his little nutshell of a metal container. This made me wonder: Who finds St. Anthony when he gets lost?"

Here in Portugal we say he is from Lisbon, Santo António de Lisboa... he is the patron of Lisbon , we celebrate his day on 13 of June... I have lots of prayers to Santo António, and they work well when we lost something:)

Thanks Paula - I've added "Santo António de Lisboa" to the tag list to give him his proper Portuguese name.

If ever I go to Portugal I will try to go in June!

i read a humourous essay about st. anthony a while back. because he "finds" your lost objects, the writer found that one runs into problems with this saint. seems you find one thing then lose something else in order to have to keep praying to him.

This is a funny idea, that you have to continue to loose things to keep him busy. Around my house this is not a problem!
