Llama Close-Up at Machu Picchu
Best viewed Large on Black
I photographed this baby Llama near The Dusty Clearing and its Sacred Rock. It was part of a dozen or so resident llamas that graze on the Machu Picchu terraces. A few minutes later, while we were resting and cooling off in one of the two huts that flank The Dusty Clearing, this llama and a few of its friends came and had a dust bath in that clearing, providing the dozens of visitors there with a close encounter of the touchy kind. This image was actually captured while it was approaching its dust bath.
