Polished Petoskey

    Newer Older

It just occurred to me while I was going through photos, that I've never posted a picture of this petoskey stone totally finished.

Well, here he is. This picture makes me smile because I think of all the hours I put into it and it turned out quite stunning if I do say so myself...

Are you tumbling it or by hand? Beautiful rock and fine image.

      Such a beautiful pattern ! A real treasure :)

      Brian.H - thanks.

smiles7 - I sand by hand. It lets me keep the natural shape of the stone which I really like. (I have a not so secret fantasy of being a sculptor and this lets me pretend)

G - I love the pattern also, thankyou.

Hello {D}. This is lovely. Yours is a much better picture of a Petoskey stone than the one on Wikipedia. I have linked to your photo on a blog article I have just written here:

Famous Frankie - hello and welcome. Thank you for the nice compliment. I actually have never looked at Wikipedia for a definition of Petoskey Stone, I should do that. I also look forward to reading your blog now (I'm a big blog reader actually). And it looks like you're from Paris, which I find very cool.

      Gotta love the Petoskey Stines!
I still love finding them after 35 years living here!
Nice detail, nice lighting and LOVE the idea.
I hope you don't mind me coping the idea.

tdog - They are a lot of fun to search for. It's funny how your eye can spot them after just a little experience. Copy all you want...
