Callanish Standing Stones (HDR)
HDR image processed from 7 exposures with the latest Photomatix Pro ... using high resolution raw images from my Nikon D800.
Seen and captured a first impression of the Standing Stones two days ago on the Isle of Lewis … on a lovely and sunny day (surprisingly ;-) ).
The visited site and the Callanish Standing Stones are really impressive from any point of view.
It's fascinating to imagine that 5000 years ago people were standing here at the same place … to imagine how they lived, what they felt, what importance nature, the elements, the seasons, weather, the sun, the moon, the stars, the cardinal points, etc. had to them … items that may appear trivial to some of us, however, these are the items of origin, of where we are coming from … and thus so important.
Anyhow, from a photography point of view the site is a bit challenging in case a large number of tourists are there. I was lucky and there were only a few. Thus I could always wait until - when walking - they all disappeared behind some stones … and click - take my shots :-)
Moreover, the Isle of Lewis is a super highly recommended area to visit ... amazing places!
