Yesterday was shooting time again. This photo has been waiting since last summer to be shot. In Munich i bought a silver grenade and i made up the idea that a young woman would through that grenade into the underpants of a guy. Blowing up patriarchy in a way. Blowing up the genders in a way. That’s why she has a text written on her back. During the shooting we tried some posings and we found that it’s even more suitable when he offers her to through that grenade in, because both of them want this idea to be blown up. Unfortunately you can’t read the text on her back, in consequence of a good pose that also contributes to the image (more than the text, in my mind). So, you can read the “lyrics” down here. First time i used a background paper, pretty nice but i still prefer on location shots.
Gender is another false division of life into arbitrary categories, none of which can adequately describe or contain any of us, in order to define us against each other in the interests of Power. There is no male. There is no female. Get free. Go off the map.
Many thanks to Christian Geisselmann and Vera Morger who did a great job as the models and lots of kisses to my best make-up-artist Sina, without her it wouln’d be the same.
Strobist info: I used the Canon 430EXII with 60x60cm softbox as main light above my head, in addition to one Richter Star Light 750 (with snoot) and 1 Cactus KF36 to lighten up the background. Lens was 24-70L on 5dMkII. Triggered with my favorite low budget transceivers Cactus V5.
